XXIII Pork Offal Festival will take place next march 3th, together with the initiative “One thousand caring mug” and VII Slaughtered Day

That is the more important gastronomic event in the year in which people will be able to taste this traditional pork product made as an ancient recipe.

The Department of Tourism, organizer of the event  together with the Association of Entrepeneurs, is working to be ready to feed more than 3.000 people expected to participe. “With this initiative, we aim to promote a very important gastronomic product to our locality like offal”, Elisabeth García said.

Councilwoman has reminded that “Güéjar es known around the world for the high quality of its cold meat”.

As has become customary since last 20 years, Main Square will be taken into a great makeshift kitchen in which ten pots filled with 500 kilos of offal, 200 of onion and 250 of tomates, plus dried tomatos and peppers, red peppers and bread. It is a delicious dish people will be able to taste free.


Pork Offal Festival return this year accompanied by the initiative “1.000 caring mugs” allocating benefits to Fundación de Solidaridad Amaranta and Hermandad Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza, to the support to women in social exclusion.

Moreover, from february 26th to march 4th, Local Council will celebrate the VII VII Slaughtered Festival in which local people and visitors will taste a large selection of tapas made from pork products.
