The fifth young autumm festival edition will count on twenty activities for all the public including workshops, tales, activities in the open air, concerts and excursions. Next friday this festival starts, repeating some traditional activities such as “Tostoná de Castañas” as well as “V Olimpiadas Rurales” and doing some new such as “I Jornadas Güejareñas del Guiso y la Cuchara”.
Elisabeth García, city councilwoman of Tourism, has highlighted the broad range of activities included in the programm “for all audiences and every taste but with a common denominator: the knowledge and respect to biodiversity”. These days continue the aim with which they were created five years ago: learn and enjoy in line with environmentn taking advantage of natural resources of the locality.
The opening will take place this friday at 17:00 in Local Library Carmina García Béjar. After that, a children`s decoration workshop a workshop tale called “Cuentos bajo el álamo” will celebrated with Suana Vegas and Jorge Pérez.
Saturday 28, will be one of the busiest days with a Seed Workshops organised by Herpetology Asocciation in which it will teach the new method of natural agriculture of Masanoby Fukuoka consisting on repeating the original conditions in orden to the soil can be richer as well as the quality of food is greater without an extra effort. Participants will be allowed to take their own seeds.
In the morning, towncouncil will offer an autumnal beakfast and, those who would wish, will be able to participate in the Resforestation Day in which a local urban forest inventory will be created. In the afternoon Autum Fest will be celebrated, including a old farming tools exhibition in charge of Arqueonatura as well as an old professions exhibition by courtesy of Antonio Madrid. That day will end with traditional “Tostoná de castañas güejareñas” and the concert of granadian band music Elsa Bhör.
Weekend, Güéjar Sierra a very flashy of Granada event will take place : the “V Olimpiadas Rurales de Sierra Nevada” in which several tems will compete to gain the “Gold Hoe”. To this end, they will have to do traditional plays remembering old rural professions such as “carrera de recogida de papas en surco, el pilón de cajas, lanzamiendo de azahón o la soga-tira”.
Along with these activities, councillorship of Tourism has organised two both cultural and educational excursions such as the guided visit to Sciency Park where, among other places, people will visit the Biodomo, and the Caminito del Rey, one of the most spectacular path in Spain.
Festival will continue untir november 12th with the “I Jornadas Güejareñas del Guiso y la Cuchara”, organised in collaboration with Association of Entrepeneurs “Vereda de la Estrella”, in which both restaurants a bars will offer some traditional stew coocked with native food.
